About Induction Lighting
Induction Lamps work almost like fluorescent lamps. A bulb, with a phosphor coating, excites a mercury gas fill. The UV radiation that is emitting by this is then converted into a visible white light through the phosphor coating. Unlike fluorescent lamps, Induction Lights use a high-frequency generator with a power coupler to produce a radio frequency magnetic field that excites the mercury gas.
Since no electrodes are used, Induction Lamps are rated 7 times longer than fluorescent lights. That means the light gets up to 100,000 hours of life!
Induction Lighting is perfect for applications in which access to the fixture makes it difficult or expensive to maintain.
